Mr. Gerry Mihalatos will be setting up a hike/orienteering course at Kings Point Park on Saturday, November 2 at 9:00 AM. The hike will cover multiple requirements for 1st and 2nd Class Rank Advancements, as well as requirements on the Hiking Merit Badge (if you are interested in pursuing). The Hiking Merit Badge is one of the optional required Merit Badges for Eagle Scout.
The Troop will gather at the Kings Point Parking Lot at the intersection of Cherry Lane and Redbrook Rd in Kings Point at 9:00 AM. See link below for google map directions. There is parking lot at this point for the Park. Parents, siblings and friends are welcome. All Scouts are required to wear their Class B uniforms (Troop 268 T-shirt). Please bring a compass, water and snacks as needed. The hike to take about 2 hours as there will be frequent stops. Weather looks good, and hopefully Mri Mihalatos sees most of the Troop there. Kings Point Park is located in Nassau County on 175 acres, there are more than 5 miles of trails for hiking, plus rest rooms in the Park.
